Because of our imperfect knowledge, we need the help of the Holy Spirit even more. Luckily, the Holy Spirit carries a special Gift of Knowledge to give to us.
How does the gift of knowledge work? Oftentimes the Holy Spirit influences us or gives us access to answers we normally wouldn’t have known on our own. It’s this specific knowledge that he impresses on us, beyond our own intelligence and knowledge levels.
Out of all the gifts provided by the Holy Spirit, this is the one that frequently manifests itself. The only problem is that most of us don’t even know it’s from the Holy Spirit. Sometimes we just dismiss it or simply think that it’s from our own knowledge.
It’s important to give the credit to the Holy Spirit and recognize that He is in us in order to help us through our problems. Moreover, acknowledging his guidance means we should be more sensitive when he does provide us with the answers next time.
Whether we need a particular answer for school work or a job, He can provide them to us at the right time and moment. He will give the answers we require, all we need to do is listen carefully and follow.
This gift of knowledge can also manifest itself on our married life as well as on how we discipline our children. He can help us handle situations where we normally would be making the wrong choice. He can provide us with the right solutions that will work best for us and our family.
With the Holy Spirit working inside us, there is no knowledge that’s limited. He can help us fix any situation or go through the toughest obstacles in our path. God’s knowledge is perfect so we can trust that the Holy Spirit’s guidance is the best thing for us.
Our main goal as Christians is to discern when the Spirit is talking to us or moving us to do something. These gifts of knowledge sometimes come to us as a form of inner knowledge or what we to as our “gut feeling.”
There are also times when the Spirit gives us knowledge we need by showing us a mental image. We need to learn to pay attention to this as well. Most people are picture oriented so it’s easier for them to grasp answers if they’re shown an image.
If you want to receive this very special gift as well, then go ahead and ask for it. The Lord will gladly provide them to you. Ask Him to help you become more sensitive to the knowledge given to you by the Holy Spirit. Moreover, ask Him to open your heart and mind to act upon the knowledge that will be given to you.
